Manchester City went 1-0 up in the first half when defender John Stones swept home a well-worked corner kick from Kevin de Bruyne. Liverpool fought back valiantly in the second half and deservedly leveled through an Alexis Mac Allister penalty kick. It’s a result that neither side would have wanted heading into the game, but it keeps the Premier League title race wide open with Arsenal remaining top after Saturday’s win over Brentford. Prices grew by 2.9% year on year in October, the slowest pace since July 2021, from 4.3% a month earlier, according to Eurostat's flash estimate. Inflation started falling sharply last month as the massive increase in energy prices recorded a year earlier impacted the annual comparison. A measure of inflation that excludes energy, food, alcohol and tobacco also declined - to 4.2%, the lowest level since July 2022, from 4.5%. All components in the inflation basket recorded smaller increases than a month earlier, although the slowdown was minimal in services, at 4.6% from 4.7%, probably as a result of rising wages.

Al-Maliki urged international leaders to press Israel for a full ceasefire to make sure urgently needed humanitarian aid can be brought into Gaza. During his visit to The Hague, al-Maliki visited the International Criminal Court (ICC), which is investigating alleged war crimes and crimes against humanity on Palestinian territory from 2014 onwards. "Israel, by cutting electricity, water and fuel, by forcing people to starvation, by forcibly transferring people, is committing war crimes," al-Maliki said.
